Green/Vegetative Roof System

Green roofs have been in existence for centuries, with the first examples dating back to the "Sod Roofs" used by the Vikings.  We offer both the Intensive and Extensive systems of Green Roofs.

System Components

Instacoat Reinforced Waterproof Membrane
The membrane combines the elastic properties of a modified latex with the weatherproofing and waterproofing qualities of a highly refined emulsified asphalt that has been reinforced with a polyester fabric.

Instacoat Roller Grade Adhesive
Consists of a thickened version of the waterproofing membrane material.

Insulation
A high density extruded polystyrene insulation board that is closed cell structure that has high compression strength and outstanding moisture resistance.

Instacoat Drain Mat
A high flow drainage membrane that is made form a high density polyethylene (HDPE).  The drain mat also incorporates a heat fused geo textile fabric.  The mat protects the waterproof membrane from damage.

Features & Benefits

Extend Service Life of roof
Life of waterproofing membrane is extended three to four times its average life due to UV radiation protection.

Manage Storm Water
Green roof can reduce the storm water runoff volume to sewer systems by 50%-90% and peak storm water runoff flow by 75%-90%

Reduce Energy Costs
The insulation qualities of a roof are improved, reducing heat flow as much as 79%-90% in warm climates and 10%-30% in cold climates.

More benefits are listed in our brochure.
